A little bit about guides: How-To do how to...

What can you put in these guides?

Guides have:

a title, an author name , the steps to the guide, and tags.

The steps themselves can contain text with or without images attached to them. You can also identify these steps as either:

  • Actions
  • Details/No Actions
  • Follow Up Actions
  • Fluff Content

  • See an example below

    Example:

How to get a stamp made

    Step 1

    Details/NoActions

This guide is for people who would like to make one of those cool stamps that has your own Chinese name on it. Why get one of these made? It is useful for banking, signing leases, work, pretty much anywhere you would normally put your signature on something. It is super common in Taiwan and I recently had to get a new one.

    Step 2

    Details/NoActions

I live in Taipei near Zhongshan MRT station, so I always get mine done at this little shop on the corner of Nanjing W Rd. & Minsheng W Rd. Of course, you probably have several around your own neighborhood no matter where you live. You can look up 刻印 or check this link with a Google Map search of Taipei stamp shops

    Step 3

    Actions

The prices range a lot depending on the material. If you want a cheaper one, tell them you want a wooden or plastic one. They only usually cost anywhere from 100 - 500NTD. In Chinese you would say

    CH -
    我要私人姓名章,木頭或塑膠的都可以。我要先確認價格再決定。

    Pinyin -
Wǒ yào sīrén xìngmíng zhāng, mùtou huò sùjiāo de dōu kěyǐ. Wǒ yào xiān quèrèn jiàgé zài juédìng.

This means "I want a personal name stamp wood or plastic is fine. I want to confirm the price first before deciding."

    Step 4

Fluff Content - NO NEED TO READ!!!

That is how you get a stamp made and that is how you write a "How To Taiwan" guide. You can add images, links, step types, and all kinds of helpful info OR banter in your guides. Of course, it is hoped that your guides will be helpful and not hurtful. Please read the "Terms Of Use" below for more details about what is allowed on How To Taiwan.
